Hebron University’s Dedication to SDG 15: Preserving Life on Land through Conservation and Education

SDG 15 aims to halt biodiversity loss and promote sustainable management of terrestrial ecosystems. In Palestine, Hebron University, which recognizes the importance of SDG 15, is actively involved in initiatives that promote biodiversity preservation and sustainable land management practices.

Hebron University - College of Agriculture participates in course on sustainable land management in Netherlands

Dr. Hazem Al-Bakir, faculty member of Agriculture, participated in a workshop on sustainable land management within the joint programme (OKP) between Palestinian and Dutch universities. The workshop, in which representatives of a number of Palestinian universities and institutions participated, included presenting a set of modern methods used to preserve land and its productivity and to stop degradation and erosion.

 

Hebron University - College of Agriculture hosts Land Foundation for Agricultural Development in training workshop “Promoting ecological approach of agriculture in Palestinian society”

As part of the Community Activities at the College of Agriculture aimed at cooperative community work with agricultural institutions and serving the Palestinian agricultural community, the Department of Plant Production hosted the Land Foundation for Development and its partners the Union of Agricultural Work Committees (UAWC) and the International Peasant Federation

Hebron University Celebrates Land's Day

Amidst a huge crowd of university students, and with the participation of His Excellency Dr. Nabil al-Jabari, Chairman of Board of Trustees, and in the presence of Dr. Khalil Thabaynah, Dean of Students' Affairs, and Dr. Ayed Ghalib, Dean of Faculty of Agriculture, and a group of university teachers, and representatives of students' union, HU celebrated the Land's Day by planting trees inside the university borders.
