The Contribution of Hebron University to Palestinian Gender Equality and the Fight Against Discrimination
A vital human right and a key component of sustainable development is gender equality. Palestine has made a lot of progress in addressing gender inequality and advancing women's rights. Through a few activities that support inclusivity, empower women, and dispel misconceptions, Hebron University, located in Palestine, actively promotes gender equality and combats discrimination.
All community members at Hebron University will be treated with respect and dignity as part of the university's commitment to advancing equality. We are dedicated to working to find employees and students who reflect the varied community we serve. The fundamental opposite of discrimination, particularly prejudice against women, is the principle of equality.

Conclusion of a training course at Hebron University entitled Women’s Rights, Human Rights
When the Women’s Center for Voluntary Leadership worked with the Faculty of Law and Political Science at Hebron University, through the legal clinics, a registration course under the title “Women’s Rights, Human Rights.”
Under the patronage of the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Hebron University, Dr. Nabil Al-Jaabari, the eighth international conference of the Faculty of Sharia was opened, entitled (Women and Contemporary Issues), as women’s issues are considered among the most controversial topics in cultural, intellectual, and even political circles in the entire world. From here, the Fundamentals of Religion Department chose College of Sharia that contemporary women’s issues be the topic of the conference.
A legal clinic specializing in women's rights.
This clinic deals with cases of violations of the law related to discrimination, education and violence directed against women.
The Central Legal Clinic includes students from all three law specializations: public law, private law, and jurisprudence and law. This is for the purpose of providing free advice to marginalized groups in need and allowing students to practice law in mock cases before they graduate. The sub-clinics constitute twelve basic elements of the legal department, where field research is conducted, policies are developed, conferences are held, and networking with governmental, international and local bodies is carried out, as well as the activation of basic rights.
Women Entrepreneurial Initiative, second session
About the initiative: An innovative initiative entitled “Strengthening the role of women in promoting comprehensive and sustainable economic development and achieving equality between women and men in Palestine” was launched by the Palestinian Information and Communications Technology Incubator (PICTI) in partnership with the Women’s Affairs Team (WATC) and the Alliance for Solidarity ( APS) and funded by Generalitat De Valencia under the framework of the project “Palestinian women’s enjoyment of their economic rights and the promotion of social change.” This initiative is dedicated to all Palestinian women in the West Bank and Jerusalem. This initiative seeks to provide women entrepreneurs in the information and communications technology sector with the necessary support to strengthen their economic potential and promote equality between women and men in Palestine. During this initiative, an innovative approach will be used to identify targeted opportunities to support women entrepreneurs in Palestine. An open call for proposals for ideas and projects will be launched; To turn their ideas into prototypes with dedicated grants to fund winning applications.
Professional diploma project for kindergarten teachers in cooperation with the Ministry of Education
On Saturday, August 20th, a professional diploma project for kindergarten teachers was launched at Hebron University in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and with funding from the World Bank. This project includes training kindergarten teachers in five areas, which are child-centered learning, play-based learning, social-emotional education in early years, and mathematical skills and concepts.
The aim of this seminar is to raise awareness within Palestinian society about property-related rights, particularly inheritance rights for Palestinian women.
The College of Nursing holds a workshop on postpartum psychological disorders
The Nursing College conducted a workshop on "Postpartum Mental Disorders," which covered various aspects, including health, psychological, religious, social, and legal dimensions.
A group of students from the College of Science and Technology participated in the conference titled "Food Sovereignty and Youth and Women's Challenges in Palestine" in the city of Ramallah, at the invitation of the Union of Agricultural Work Committees and the Peasants' Way Movement in the Arab Region, in collaboration with the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation in Germany.
The conference addressed several important topics and themes that highlighted the role of youth and women as part of the developmental landscape, especially concerning the agricultural sector. This was achieved by discussing concepts related to food sovereignty, food security, social justice, consumption, production, and other relevant subjects. The conference also featured practical examples, such as the presentation of the Municipal Seed Bank, as a case study in adopting the concept of food sovereignty.
His Excellency Dr. Nabil Al-Jaabari, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, visited the Model University School affiliated with Hebron University to extend congratulations and best wishes to the school's teachers on the occasion of Palestinian Teacher's Day, which falls on Wednesday, December 14, 2022.
The College of Nursing at Hebron University, with the support of the Jerusalem Fund, conducted a two-day workshop titled "Developing and Enhancing Midwifery Skills in Palestine."
During the workshop, academic lectures were delivered on topics related to medical sewing skills for midwives and the golden minute for newborn resuscitation by professors from the College of Nursing, including Naama Mansour, Insaf Amro, Ahmed Bajali, Sireen Odeh, Yaman Shawareh, Wafaa Al-Amleh, and Dr. Hala Abu Zahra from Abu Al-Hasan Al-Qasim Hospital. The training targeted 20 midwives from government hospitals and private sector hospitals in the Hebron and Bethlehem governorates. At the end of the training, certificates were awarded to the participating midwives, who expressed their meaningful and scientific benefit from the workshop.
A meeting with kindergarten supervisors in the education directorates - Hebron Governorate
The College of Professions and Applied Sciences, specializing in Early Childhood Education, held an extensive meeting with kindergarten supervisors from the Education Directorates in the Hebron Governorate. The meeting aimed to discuss various matters related to the specialization, the required skills for graduates in the field, the necessary curricula for early childhood education, as well as educational resources

Attending a course on preparing a university curriculum for the course on violence against women
Suhair Issa, a lecturer at the College of Nursing at Hebron University, attended a specialized course on how to develop a university course curriculum titled "Violence Against Women" and the possibility of incorporating it into academic programs at Palestinian universities.
The first phase of the course, held from May 13, 2011, to May 19, 2011, covered topics in behavioral science, psychology, mental health, and legal matters related to violence against women. In the end, participants, who were academics working at Palestinian universities, were asked to submit their proposals for building a university course on violence against women.
The Faculty of Law at Hebron University, in cooperation with the Women’s Center for Legal and Social Aid, organized a training course on “Women’s Rights: Human Rights” with the aim of qualifying a selected group of law students capable of defending women’s rights and following up on their issues at the local and international levels. The course lasts for an intensive week and trains a number of specialists in the field of international law, women’s rights, and human rights defenders, including lawyer Rawan Obaid, lawyer Hanadi Hamidat, and professors Samar Al-Wazani, in addition to Dr. Lawyer Moataz Qafisha and social worker Amal Al-Jubeh.
