1- The Department of Private Media ranked first among the media in Palestine and first among other universities in the Environmental Journalists Competition.

This competition comes within the environmental journalist project led by the Environment Authority in cooperation with Palestinian universities and supervised by the Media Development Center at Birzeit University.

The students participating in the course underwent training by experts from inside and outside the country in the field of environmental media, which lasted for six months.

2- The College of Science and Technology participates in commemorating Arab Environment Day

The College of Science and Technology participated in environmental activities to commemorate Arab Environment Day in coordination with the Environmental Quality Authority, which included an environmental path through nature and historical monuments in the Al-Makhrour and Battir areas in the Bethlehem Governorate to learn about the history of the two areas and their most important landmarks.

3- The College of Science and Technology participates in the Ambassadors for the Environment initiative

A group of students from the College of Science and Technology participated in the opening of the environmental workshop “Ambassadors for the Environment” dedicated to Palestinian university students. Ambassadors for the Environment is an initiative within the Smart Leaders 2022 project, which is organized by the Palestinian Society for Children’s Arts and Culture (Palestinian Children’s Arts Center) with the American Forest Foundation. .

4- Students of the College of Agriculture participate in the olive harvesting event in the town of Idhna

As an embodiment of the university’s policy of supporting the local community and within the community activities of the College of Agriculture, in cooperation with the Hebron Agriculture Directorate and with the support of the Land Foundation for Agricultural Development, students of practical courses in the Department of Plant Production participated in the olive harvesting event.

5- A delegation of trainers from Hebron University participates in a preparatory training workshop with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations

The Graduate Unit at Hebron University implemented a project entitled “Green Jobs and Sustainable Income Opportunities for Young Palestinian Women and Men in the Agricultural and Food Business Sector.” The project works to enhance social and economic stability among Palestinian youth, including university students, recent graduates, and unemployed young men/women, by facilitating access to decent and sustainable “green” job opportunities in the food and agricultural sector. The project is implemented in partnership with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and with generous funding from the Government of Denmark.

6- The Media Department participates in the environmental media course

A group of students from the Department of Media at Hebron University participated in the training workshop on environmental journalism, organized by the Palestinian Environmental Quality Authority and with the support of the Swedish Environment Agency and in partnership with media departments and departments in Palestinian universities as part of a project to enhance media coverage of environmental issues in Palestine.

7- The College of Agriculture, in cooperation with the Earth Foundation, implements a training course in the field of environmental agriculture

The College of Agriculture at Hebron University, in cooperation with the Land Foundation for Agricultural Development and in partnership with the Agricultural Vocational Training Center “Masdar” and the Municipal Seed Bank, implemented a training course in the field of environmental agriculture.

8- Participation of students from the College of Science and Technology in an environmental trail to the Wadi Qana Reserve

As part of the policy of raising awareness of the importance of biodiversity in Palestine, a group of students from the College of Science and Technology participated in the environmental track organized by the Union of Agricultural Work Committees in Hebron.

9- The Department of Political Science wins silver and bronze in an international competition on climate

Two students from the Department of Political Science won an international competition on climate-related policies and laws. Student Areej Alma won the silver rank, while student Abdul Nabi Al-Shalalda won the bronze rank. Hundreds of students from various countries of the world participated in the competition by submitting scientific articles on climate laws and policies. Note that this competition came as a culmination of the presentation of these articles on the Climate Law and Governance Day, which was held last November on the sidelines of the Climate Summit in the Arab Republic of Egypt. The University of Cambridge, Ain Shams University, and many research institutions around the world participated in organizing this competition.

 Witnessed student Abu Ajamiya win the green sports business competition

Shahad Abu Ajamiya is studying a Bachelor of Environmental Science and Technology, in her fourth year, among the outstanding students in her field of specialization. Since the beginning of her studies, Shahad has been keen to create opportunities that help her develop her personal and professional skills.
