17.2.1 Relationships with regional NGOs and government for SDG policy
This competition comes within the environmental journalist project led by the Environment Authority in cooperation with Palestinian universities and supervised by the Media Development Center at Birzeit University.
The students participating in the course underwent training by experts from inside and outside the country in the field of environmental media, which lasted for six months.
Professor Fayez Abu Sarhan participated as a representative of the College of Sharia in the workshop held by the International Committee of the Red Cross in Amman under the title: (Environmental protection and climate change from the perspective of Islamic Sharia and international humanitarian law). Representatives from Palestine Ahliya University/Bethlehem and the Islamic University also participated from Palestine. And the Ministry of Endowments / Gaza.
3- The university obtains membership in the United Nations Academic Impact
Hebron University obtained membership in the United Nations Academic Impact Program (ACADEMIC IMPACT) as a result of the tireless work to develop the university’s societal and research role and its vision that aims to influence the regional and global environment through its colleges, centers and cadres.
In the context of their efforts to promote media freedoms and civil and political rights in Palestine, the Media Department and the Independent Commission for Human Rights organized a symposium entitled “Media Freedoms in the Light of the Information Society.”
The College of Law and Political Science, in partnership with the Independent Commission for Human Rights and a number of official and informal civil society institutions, organized a symposium on the topic “Social and Legal Protection for the Poor and Marginalized Groups” - The Rights of the Elderly and Marginalized Groups.
The purpose of this symposium is to raise awareness among the Palestinian community about the rights associated with real estate funds, especially inheritance
On Monday, July 25, 2022, Hebron University hosted the final conference of the research project entitled “The Effects of Political Conflict and Social Inequality on the Quality of Health Care in Palestine: Resilience in the Face of Adversity,” in which researchers discussed health care in Palestine.
The Department of Applied Geography at the College of Arts participated in the work of the second international scientific conference, which was held by the geography departments at Al-Muthanna University, the University of Damascus, Kuwait University, Cairo University, Umm Al-Bouaghi University in Algeria, Kuwait Meteorology, the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research, and seven other Iraqi universities, entitled : "The role of geography in achieving sustainable development."
