Broadcasting at 96.1 MHz, Radio "Alam" can be heard on campus and throughout the Hebron District. It offers a wide range of social, political, scientific, sports, and cultural programs as well as the university's latest news and events. What sets the radio station apart from its counterparts are the specialized staff members and academics who take part in presenting the shows related to their field as well as the in-depth research and ardent fact-checking that are conducted.
Staffed by around 17 paid professionals, who receive the support of over 3-dozen interns, Radio Alam is more than just a credible content creator, but also a creator of jobs and work experience.
Internship opportunities at Radio Alam
Internships are open to all students regardless of their major or level and have a natural skill they'd like to develop or who just enjoy media. Interns who prove their brilliance and creativity may compete for one of four full scholarships.
Students interested in the opportunities offered may visit the center to apply. Applicants may specify which area they'd like to train in such as editing, producing, audio ... etc. or a combination. Interns are chosen based on merit, and are each assigned a supervisor from the centre's professional staff. These traineeships are often for 3-6 months.
The Department of continuing education and Community Development at Hebron University was established in 1999 with the aim of serving the community and contributing to providing the private and public sector with qualified and trained graduates according to the needs of the local and regional market.
Vocational education is one of the most important pillars of the programs offered by the Department of continuing education and community development.since its establishment, the department has worked to develop vocational programs that meet the needs of the market and open the opportunity for students who were not lucky enough to enroll in Palestinian universities to obtain a vocational education that opens the opportunity for them to engage in the labor market.

Since its establishment in 1971, Hebron University has been concerned with the support of people with special needs.
In 2010, the Special Needs Lab was created to serve students with visual impairment, blindness, partial or total deafness, or face learning difficulties. The unit has a set of devices to provide several services in the realm of information technology.
The Special Needs Unit oversees a group of specialists who work closely with such students, and provide them with the support they need.

Volunteering at Hebron University
Hebron University also has several volunteer programmes where international students have the opportunity of working with the local community. Interaction with our staff, students and the locals will increase your cultural experience. Here are some examples of the volunteer programs the university offers:

As part of the activities of the College of Community Agriculture, which aims at community cooperative work with agricultural institutions and serving the Palestinian agricultural community, the Department of Plant Production in the College of Agriculture hosted the Land Foundation for Development and its partners, the Union of Agricultural Work Committees and the International Peasant Union (La Via Campesina movement), through a training workshop entitled "Promoting The “ecological” approach to agriculture, where students and graduates were introduced to the municipal seed bank located in the Union of Agricultural Work Committees, and its importance in preserving Palestinian municipal varieties. It was also explained how to apply for incentive grants for graduate agricultural engineers to start their own entrepreneurial projects aimed at developing the agricultural sector.
Hebron University organized an extensive workshop under the auspices of Dr. Nabil Al-Jabari, Chairman of the University Board of Trustees, which dealt with prospects and ways to enhance cooperation between the university and the public and private sectors in Hebron Governorate. Officials, managers, and employees from public, private and civil institutions, businessmen from the governorate, and staff Administrative and academic at the university and postgraduate students. At the beginning of the workshop, Dr. Samir Abu Zneid - Chairman of the Preparatory Committee for the meeting and Dean of the College of Finance and Administration - welcomed the attendees and emphasized Dr. Nabil Al-Ja'bari's interest in the subject of this workshop, and his constant emphasis on the need to achieve sustainable partnership between the university and institutions operating in all economic sectors to ensure the high quality of university outputs. He also emphasized the university's continued cooperation with various institutions and sectors, stressing that the university's doors and facilities are open to serve the local community. He also thanked the members of the Preparatory Committee, Vice-Presidents for Academic and Administrative Affairs, and the various departments at the university for their efforts in making this meeting a success. In turn, Dr. Abu Zneid explained that the main objective of this workshop is to strengthen the real partnership with the sectors. The committee supervising the workshop divided the participants into working groups according to sectors and according to common interests. There was the services sector (public, financial, banking and insurance sectors), the education sector, the agriculture and environment sector, the endowment sector and Sharia courts, the industrial sector, and the health sector.
In collaboration with the Family Planning and Protection Association, the College of Nursing conducted a scientific lecture on (The role of health service providers in the investigation and referral of cases of violence)
The lecture was delivered by Mrs. Maisa Shalaldeh and lawyer Mai Awad, through which they explained the types of violence, the investigation of cases, the referral system, and laws on the subject of violence. The meeting targeted about 45 students from the third year of nursing in the course of Health and therapeutic promotion and from the midwifery students in the course of Reproductive health and Family.
Alumni Unit and INJAZ Palestine hold training workshop entitled "How to Get Started"
The Alumni Unit at Hebron University, in cooperation with Injaz Palestine, held a training workshop entitled "How to Get Started". The training workshop focused on the basic skills that graduates and final year students need for a smooth transition to the labor market, as the workshop focused on educating the attendees and providing them with CV writing skills, job interview skills and the need to take advantage of practical training opportunities.
With the generous support of the Danish Government and in cooperation with the Palestinian Ministry of Agriculture and with the support of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) Green Jobs, the Alumni Unit of Hebron University is carrying out activities supporting the development of green projects for the Palestinian youth to contribute to promoting access to productive and decent jobs and sustainable income.
Festival on the Rights of Persons with Disability at Hebron University Law School
Hebron University Law School, through its clinical programs, in collaboration with the YMCA in Jerusalem and the Law School’s Cultural Club, organized a festival on the rights of persons with disabilities in Palestine. The festival was opened by Dr. Salah Zaro, President of Hebron University, who emphasized the importance of having such event to raise community awareness on the rights of persons with disabilities, and to change the official policies in line with the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, in order to meet the needs of half a million Palestinians with disabilities. Speakers at the event were also: Dr. Mutaz Qafisheh, Dean of Law School, Mr. Nader Khallaf from YMCA, Mogira Awawdeh, Head of Law School’s Cultural Club, and two students Nebal Slamin and Hanadi Jubeh. Law students performed a theater play on the discrimination against persons with disabilities. The event was attended by some 200 people, including law students and professors, NGOs and governmental bodies, human rights activists, and journalists.
The Department of Scholarships and Loans
Hebron University established the Department of Scholarships and Loans based on its vision that no student shall be denied an education because of their financial need.
The staff assess the students' economic and social status'. The department also works at building good relationships with local and international donors.
Hebron University Establishes a Tent for Supporting Handicapped Students
Hebron University in partnership with Qader Institution For Societal development established a tent for supporting handicapped students in the University campus. The tent aimed at supporting the issues of handicapped students at Palestinian universities.
The tent was opened with welcoming remarks by Prof. Dr. Ahmad Atawneh who valued the role of the students participating in the project to support the issues of their colleagues the handicapped students. He clarified the role of Hebron University in supporting the issues of handicap and standing by their side in order to support them in achieving their dreams in studying at the university in an equivalent way with the rest of their colleagues.
The Department of Students’ Affairs with the cooperation of Qader Institution for Societal development held a workshop to put a plan to develop policies and interventions which achieve equality for handicapped students and with the participation of the Committee for Handicapped affairs and the relevant parties in the University in the presence of Mr. Ziad Abdullah, director of the Catholic relief services in the west bank, Mrs. Lena Bandak director general of Qader Institution, Mrs. Ghaida’ Raheel official of partners' relations-Catholic Relief Services, Mr. George Mansour executive director of Qader Institution, Mr. Shawkat Sarsour manager of Al-Sahel company for Institutional development and Communication and Mrs. Juanne Jubran a researcher in Al-Sahel Company for Institutional development and Communication.
Hebron University honours health and community institutions
In the presence of the Acting President of the University Dr. Nabil Al-Hasasneh, the Vice President for Academic Affairs Prof. Dr. Radwan Barakat and a number of community and health institutions from Jerusalem, Bethlehem and Hebron, the College of Nursing held a meeting to honor the health and community institutions participating in the college activities and in the practical training of the students.
College of Agriculture holds educational lecture on child nutrition
As part of the awareness and educational activities of the Esnad project funded by the Erasmus Plus program, the Department of Nutrition and Food Processing at the College of Agriculture organized an educational lecture on child nutrition in the first year, targeting nursing mothers from university students and the local community.
Hebron University Celebrates World Mental Health Day
Hebron University participated in the celebration of the World Mental Health Day. which falls on the 10th of October. The Faculty of Education at the University organized an activity on this occasion in which dozens of students and faculty members of the College participated.
