Agricultural Environmental Management for Wadi Al-Semin
Preliminary results
Preliminary results (May 2019)
- Presence of coliform bacteria in a number of water sources in the region, especially near the wastewater, and the pollution of the large quantities above limits allowed locally and globally.
- There is evidence of heavy metals in the water, around wells and springs near the waste and waste water dump
- Through field measurements and field surveying, there is a very close distance between water sources (springs and wells) and wastewater.
- The Population lives adjacent to the wastewater stream in the area.
- High percentage of heavy elements and bacteria in the soil, due to flood of wastewater on agricultural land.
- Deterioration in a number of agricultural areas in the region, especially near the wastewater. Farmers and residents complain of the spread of pollution from wastewater.
