Admission Requirements

First: To be eligible for admission to this program, the applicant must:

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Media from Hebron University or any other recognized university.
  • Have a minimum overall grade of “Good” (or equivalent).
  • Non-regular students (e.g., graduates of open universities) may be accepted, provided their Bachelor’s GPA is not less than 85%.
  • Pass the personal interview required for the admission process.
  • Fulfill the foreign language requirement for program admission, in accordance with the university’s applicable regulations.
  • Pass both components of the entrance exam: the written test and the oral interview. Admission will be competitive and based on the highest scores among applicants, depending on departmental capacity and needs, while considering all relevant circumstances.
  • The admission score for the graduate program is weighted as follows: 25% based on the interview and written exam, and 75% based on the Bachelor’s GPA.
  • Submit at least two letters of recommendation.
  • Final admission is determined based on the applicant’s overall score.
  • Applicants are accepted in order of their GPA rankings, following Hebron University’s established admission criteria.
  • In the event of a tie between two applicants in all evaluation aspects, preference is given to the applicant who graduated from Hebron University.
  • The Graduate Studies Council will issue the final admission decision no later than one week before the start of the registration period, based on the recommendation of the relevant academic committees.

 

Second: The Master’s degree in Media is awarded upon completion of the following requirements:

  • Fulfilling all conditions stipulated in the Master's program regulations.
  • Completing any prerequisite (remedial) courses assigned by the department’s Graduate Studies Committee (if applicable).
  • Successfully completing at least 33 credit hours at the 700 level, with a cumulative GPA of no less than 75%.
  • Submitting and successfully defending a Master’s thesis, which accounts for 9 credit hours.
  • Publishing at least one research paper in a peer-reviewed academic journal as a requirement for graduation.
