Hebron University celebrates the International Nursing Day

The Faculty of Nursing held, under the auspices of Dr. Nabil Jabari Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Hebron University, a celebration in the occasion of International Nursing Day, which comes on the twelfth of May each year, in the presence of Dr. Samir Abuznaid the president of Hebron University and         Mr. Mohammad Ziad Al-Jabari, Vice President for Administrative Affairs.

The ceremony was opened by readings from the holy Quran and listening to the Palestinian national anthem.

Dr Hussein Jabareen, the Dean of Faculty of Nursing, gave an opening speech where he welcomed the attendees from the university administration and students and graduates of the Faculty of Nursing. Dr Jabareen especially thanked the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Hebron University, Dr Nabil Al-Jabari for the investment in learning and education of the nursing profession and for his continuous support to the College of Nursing since its establishment. Dr Jabareen confirmed that the College of Nursing at Hebron University is a summa cum laude national achievement, since it supplements the Palestinian health institutions with highly qualified nursing cadres, which led for many of the graduates of the Faculty of Nursing to hold leadership positions despite of their brief period of employment. Dr Hussein added that the College of Nursing at the University of Hebron is an important scientific and professional resource that prepare nurses with high caliber to serve the Palestinian citizens and improve the quality of health and the educational process, hence the college seeks to develop and expand its academic programs in the future according to the needs of the Palestinian society. Dr Hussein Jabareen finished his speech saying that our celebration on the occasion of the International Nursing Day is a tribute of thanks to our commander in Hebron University Dr Nabil Jabari for his vision and continuous support of the Faculty of Nursing at Hebron University.

Then the president of Hebron University, Dr Samir Abuznaid, delivered a speech where he conveyed the greetings of Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Hebron University to the celebrating family of Nursing College. Dr Samir Abuznaid also expressed his pride in the Faculty of Nursing and explained that Hebron University is always seeking to achieve its mission of serving the Palestinian society through education in various areas where the university is working constantly to provide human resources, buildings, laboratories, especially in the track of health colleges such as the current Faculties of Nursing and Pharmacology, and in the future the Faculty of Medicine and University Hospital, in order to walk in the path of progress and advancement in health sector and all needed areas.

After that the President, Vice President, Dean of Nursing and faculty staff honored the outstanding students and some graduates on their career achievements.  Then the celebrants listened to a couple of words from graduates and students. Hebron University Choir also delivered a minstrel show. The ceremony included for the rest of the day many recreational activities and concluded with a scientific competition between students and graduates.
