This course deals with the concept of rumor with psychological and social implications, the course deals with the types of rumor and its connection to psychological warfare, ways to confront it in a counseling methods on the individual and collective levels, the foundations upon which psychological warfare is based and the development of its methods at the present time. Also, it includes review of models of employing rumor and psychological warfare in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

32157 Counselling at Different Stages of Life
This course reviews the counselling methods and strategies necessary to intervene in solving problems that individuals suffer from in (childhood and adolescence), so that students are trained on counselling interventions to cope with childhood and adolescence problems in accordance with the fundamentals and principles of psychological-educational counseling theories.

Moreover, it reviews several social problems facing Palestinian society at the present time and ways to overcome them

This course deals with cognitive psychology, its origins, development, goals, types of short-term and long-term memory, the cognitive processes necessary to process information: (attention, perception, storage, remembering, thinking, and problem solving); its role in processing information in the mental structure of individuals, and the relationship between language and both thinking and educational applications of human memory in school learning through research and studies that have been implemented in this field
32343 Religious Counselling
The course aims to investigate the nature of religious counselling, its importance, the human need for it in times of crises; learn about the relationship of religious counseling and psychological counselling; review the methods of religious counselling in dealing with individuals’ problems. Many of the techniques of religious counselling and how to employ them in crises and psychological traumas are also reviewed

This course addresses the definition of approaches and theories explaining psychological stress; the sources of psychological stress; its effects on human behavior and personality; the role of counseling theories in confronting psychological stress on the personal, social, professional, psychological, and family levels; reviewing different models of psychological stress and applying appropriate counseling interventions to them

32106 Mental Health and Adaptation
This course reviews the modern concept of mental health, its manifestations, the reasons for its occurrence, its relationship to adaptation, building a healthy personality, the approved standards for psychological health , its impact on the individual’s life, and how to prevent emotional and psychological disorders. A focus on communication with mental health centers in the community, to identify the nature of their work; the services they provide at the individual, family and community levels through research reports carried out by the students.
32203 Developmental Psychology
This course deals with the concept of development, its principles, factors affecting it, research methods in growth, and manifestations of development in the stages of human life (childhood, adolescence, adulthood, and elderly age), based on the interpretation of development and theories of development (mental, social, moral, and linguistic) in order to help learners achieve normal growth. The course also reviews some growth problems, especially in the stages of childhood and adolescence, and how to treat these developmental problems.
32237 Physiological Psychology
This course deals with the structural and functional framework of the nervous system, glands, and brain; their role in human behavior (mental, linguistic, and emotional). It also examines the relationship between physical disorders of psychological origins. Students are tasked with researching the various manifestations of human behavior and identifying their biological foundations
32238 Readings in Educational and Psychological Counseling in English
This course reviews the concepts and terminology in psychological and educational counseling, so that students are trained to read and write these concepts; the ability to employ them in applied contexts for psychological and educational counseling. Short articles in counseling are reviewed to analyze and understand their meaning. Students are also trained to analyze counseling models approved by specialists in mental health centers and how to fill out these forms in English
32239 Psychological and Educational Counseling Skills
This course focuses on many skills necessary in the counseling process, so that the focus is on the theoretical framework for each skill; the practical application framework, through acting situations and role-playing among the students. Students are also trained through field visits to learn how to employ these skills by psychologists working in mental health centers and educational counselors in schools

A review of numerous counseling theories (psychological analysis, realistic counselling, field theory, humanistic theory, cognitive-behavioral theory) so that each theory is identified with a theoretical framework that includes the theory’s postulates, basic concepts, the counseling process, and applications of the theory’s principles, while the applied framework includes techniques for each theory and how to apply them in counselling problems
32241 Psychological Tests
This course aims to introduce students to many psychological tests and scales, by reviewing the characteristics of the scale, the validity and reliability coefficients, the conditions for their application and analysis, and the interpretation of their results. This is done within a training framework by the students. The focus of these tests are: (Mental abilities, personality, inclinations and attitudes, professional choice, etc.)

This course reviews the nature of school counseling, its goals, fields, and reasons for its existence; the relationship between the counseling with the academic work in schools; the competencies and skills of the educational counselors; the stages of the counseling method in order to follow up on the academic, psychological, and behavioral issues of the group, within the framework of building a pioneering and collective counseling project for these issues, and training students about building counselling plans for every student

This course deals with the concept of group counseling in terms of its meaning; the foundations and justifications, how to form a counseling group, the steps for building group counseling programs, and the techniques necessary for group counseling programs. Students are introduced to group counseling models to analyze and criticize them, and to build a proposed group program for one of the topics in psychological and educational counselling
32317 Theoretical Preparation for Field Training (Practicum)
This course focuses on many issues and topics related to field training in institutions and clinics, including the training guide for students, planning models for the counselor, the stages of working with beneficiaries in clinics, the ethics of the counseling profession, the counseling skills required, and the stages of the counseling process, so that students make visits including observations of the work of educational counselors and psychologists in mental health centers and writing professional reports on those visits.

The course focuses on introducing students to what clinical psychology is in terms of its origins, development and fields; the foundations of clinical psychology; introducing the roles of the clinical specialist and the necessary diagnostic tools for psychological disorders; the stages of therapeutic intervention by the specialist; employing differential diagnostic criteria in describing and classifying psychological and behavioral disorders and writing the clinical report
32341 Counselling through Play and Drama
The course aims to introduce students to play and games and their role in counselling children in behavioral, social, and educational problems, according to various counseling theories, as well as introducing the psychodrama method in counseling; introducing students to its goals as a counseling method; and the role of the counselor in applying modern trends in the psychodrama style in counseling
32342 Guidance for adults and the elderly
This course deals with the stage of aging, its developmental characteristics and demands, and the most important problems facing the elderly at this stage, while presenting models of the social, psychological and economic problems of the elderly, and developing guidance plans to intervene in these problems through counselling theories
32331 Addiction Counseling and Treatment
This course deals with the concept of addiction, its causes and its impact on aspects of human behavior, defining its forms (drugs, alcohol, smoking, and the Internet); methods of assessment, diagnosis, prevention and treatment for addicts; the role of schools, family and community institutions in preventing and treating addiction; and training the students on psychological counseling programs of rehabilitation according to numerous counseling theories in institutions related to addiction treatment
32410 Counselling and Treatment of Victims of Violence
This course deals with the concept of violence, its causes, effects, theories, forms and types (domestic violence, violence against women, violence against children, school violence, electronic violence) and counselling interventions dealing with types of violence based on theories of psychological and educational counseling. Students through the course visit institutions related to violence and its resistance.
32412 Counselling in crises and trauma
This course reviews the concept of psychological crisis; psychological trauma; post-traumatic stress disorder; and the standards for each category. The course also focuses on reviewing psychological, social, educational, and pathological crises and traumas, and the necessary guidance intervention for each of these crises according to the appropriate category in counseling theories.
32413 Practicum in Counseling in Educational Institutions
This course aims to train students in educational counseling skills, training on building counseling plans, establishing the counseling relationship, counseling interview skills, managing counseling files, and exercising the duties of a counselor in the school. This is done through the supervision of the course teacher in cooperation with the school counselor
32414 Graduation Project
This course aims to apply the principles and concepts related to scientific research methodology and psychological evaluation. Students are trained on the steps and stages of writing a graduation project using a theoretical and statistical framework. Students are trained on the SPSS program and the student’s project is discussed based on scientific standards
32416 Counselling of People with Special Needs
This course examines the category of people with special needs (disabled and gifted) in terms of identifying the categories of disability and the nature of the gifted, paying attention to methods of evaluation and diagnosis for all of these categories, and focusing on counselling intervention through the suitable counselling programs for all categories of disabilities and giftedness
32418 Psychological and Mental Disorders
This course presents the various forms of psychological and mental disorders, taking into account the differences between them, introducing the manifestations and causes; methods of diagnosis; means of prevention and treatment for all of these disorders; training in the use of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM- 5); field visits to psychological and mental health centers to learn about the stages of treatment of psychological and mental disorders
32420 Practicum in Counseling in Mental Health Clinics
This course aims to train students, with the assistance of psychological centers and clinics, on all psychological counseling skills (exploration, understanding and action phase), building counseling relationships, making decisions, managing counseling files, training in counseling and adhering to the codes of ethics of psychological counseling during training, so that the students complete at the end of the course the portfolio achievement file for the entire period of his training
