A Hebron University Law Student Qualifies as Best Oralist in Jessup Moot Court Competition
Suhaib Turk, a law student from the Hebron University Law School, was classified as top oralist as part of the Philip C. Jessup national rounds in moot court competition in international law among six Palestinian law schools on 8 and 9 February 2014 in Jericho. Funded by a USAID program, the competition incorporated, in addition to Hebron University, the law schools of Arab American University, Jenin; Palestine Ahlia University, Bethlehem; Al-Quds University, Jerusalem; Al-Najah National University, Nablus; Birzeit University, Ramallah. Suhaib will head to Washington, DC, in April 2014 to act as a coach for the Palestinian national team that will compete internationally.
The Hebron University team that took part in the competition included the following students: Nisreen Najar, Wala Sultan, Dunia Salimah, Mazen Zaro, besides Suhaib. The training was conducted under the supervision of lawyer Samir Najmidin, a Lecturer at Hebron Law School, and coordinated by the Hebron Legal Clinic staff.
