The Conclusion of Shashat Festival Events by Showing Al-Qarar Film at Hebron University

The series of the 9^th Women's Film Festival organized by Shashat Association was concluded by showing Al-Qarar (Decision) film that is directed by Layale Al-Kilany. The film was showed in the presence of faculty members, students at the Media Department, and other interested students.

Dr. Said Shaheen, Head of Media Department, began the show by presenting a short overview about the film and its main idea. He clarified the idea of the film that revolves around the injustice and dominant negative perspective towards the Arab girls as a result of certain practices, habits and tradition that hinder the progress of women and degrade their status.

After the show, discussion was opened on Layale's character that seems depressed and confused to express her thoughts regarding the future, and to continue her education outside the country as a result of the habits and traditions that prevent her doing so.

The audience expressed their support to the idea of the film, and encouraged the right of women's education wherever they want in an attempt to overcome the masculine inherited cultural barriers.

At the end of the show, the audience expressed their gratitude and support for Shashat association in addressing women's issues, hoping to see new ideas next year.
