HU College of IT Hosts Inaugural “Design Challenge” with Nationwide Participation
The College of Information Technology at Hebron University hosted the inaugural season of the Hebron University Design Challenge, a spirited competition featuring 20 teams from Palestinian universities with graphic design programs.
In a vibrant, highly competitive atmosphere, teams presented their creative projects to an independent judging panel, which evaluated each entry based on a set of innovative and rigorous criteria.
Dr. Raghad Dwaik, Acting President of Hebron University, praised the students’ talent and creativity, expressing pride in the event.
The winners were:
- First place: An-Najah National University,
- Second place: Al-Ummah College University.
Mr. Hazem Tabakhi, Chair of the Judging Committee, commended the quality of the submissions and the smooth organization of the event.
Dr. Bilal Amro, Dean of the College of Information Technology, thanked all contributors, including the judging panel led by Mr. Tabakhi (ArtTech Advertising), Mr. Fares Al-Baydaq (Al-I’tisam Printing Press), and Ms. Manar Danna (Infinity Company). He also acknowledged the event’s sponsors: Jawwal, Housing Bank, Optimus, and Mr. Mohammad Ziad Al-Ja'bari.
Dr. Amro noted that the challenge is part of broader initiatives—like the Multimedia Art Exhibition and Hebron Programming Contest—aimed at fostering innovation and healthy student competition.
The Design Challenge serves as a platform for students to showcase their creativity to private sector companies, strengthening the graphic design industry in Palestine and enhancing students’ employability.
