Hebron University Faculty Member Publishes Two Peer-Reviewed Papers in High-Impact International Journals
Dr. Enad Al-Nawaj’a from the Department of Mathematics at Hebron University has recently co-authored a research paper with a group of Arab scholars, published in the prestigious International Journal for Equity in Health — a Q1-ranked journal indexed in Scopus.
The paper, titled "Starvation If Not by Bombs: Psychometric Properties of the Food Insecurity Experience Scale (FIES) Among Civilians in Gaza Facing the World's Worst Hunger Crisis," presents findings from a study conducted in September 2024 with a sample of 534 individuals from the Gaza Strip.
Results revealed that nearly half of the population experiences food insecurity. The study also validated the Arabic version of the FIES, confirming its high reliability and effectiveness as a tool for assessing food insecurity in conflict-affected areas.
