Hebron University Hosts National Reading Day Launch: "Palestine's Schools Read"

Hebron University hosted the inauguration of the National Reading Day initiative in the Hebron Governorate. The initiative was organized in collaboration with the Department of Student Activities at the Directorate of Education and aligned with similar events across the West Bank governorates.

The events commenced with the announcement of the Readers’ Caravan, a reading competition designed for students across all educational levels. The initiative was conceived by students Raghad and Iman Marrar in coordination with the Center for Excellence at Hebron University and will be implemented in partnership with the Directorate of Education in Central Hebron. Adding a touch of heritage, the choir of the Blind Charitable Society performed traditional national songs, earning widespread admiration from attendees.

Key figures, including Mr. Atef Al-Jamal, Director General of the Directorate of Education in Central Hebron, and departmental heads, attended the event. They were warmly received by Prof. Radwan Barakat, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Mr. Muhammad Ziad Al-Jaabari, Vice President for Administrative Affairs; Dr. Bilal Al-Shoubaki, Director of the Center for Excellence; and HU Public Relations staff.

The activities featured various interactive corners designed to engage school students of all ages. Highlights included the Readers’ CaféStoryteller’s CornerReaders’ Club, and Book Donation Corner.
