French Consulate, Hebron University Explore New Horizons for Cooperation
Hebron University welcomed the French Consul General, Mr. Nicolas Kassianides, and his delegation, which included Ms. Mathilde Michel, Mr. Stéphane Verfan, Ms. Maud Briard, and Ms. Maha Abu Haneya. The university's representatives, including Dr. Nader Hijazi, Dr. Raghad Dwaik, and Prof. Radwan Barakat, received the visitors, aiming to strengthen academic and cultural ties between the university and the French Consulate.
Dr. Hijazi, speaking on behalf of the HU Board of Trustees, emphasized that this visit opens new horizons for collaboration, while Dr. Dwaik noted the importance of such partnerships amidst Palestine's challenges. She expressed Hebron University’s eagerness to expand collaboration with French institutions, particularly for the benefit of students. Prof. Barakat highlighted the value of enhancing academic cooperation and advancing scientific research, seeking the Consulate's support for practical partnerships.
The delegation engaged in discussions with deans from the Colleges of Law & Political Science, Medicine, and Nursing and representatives from the International Relations Office and Public Relations Department. They toured key facilities, including the College of Medicine, the Nursing Simulation Lab, and the French Language Resource Center, meeting with faculty and students to explore prospects for deeper linguistic and academic collaboration.
Mr. Kassianides commended Hebron University's dynamic academic environment and reiterated the French Consulate’s commitment to supporting joint initiatives with the University. The visit concluded with a radio interview, during which Mr. Kassianides discussed the role of the French Consulate in supporting the Palestinian community and highlighted ongoing projects between France and the Palestinian Authority.
