Department of Political Science organizes scientific visit to Bethlehem Municipality and Al-Ahliyya University

A delegation of students from the Department of Political Science visited Bethlehem Municipality and the Community Development Center of Ahlia University, as part of the "Building Base and Bridge for Intercultural Understanding" program of the Erasmus+ series of programs funded by the European Union. The delegation was accompanied by Mrs. Yusra Al-Qawasmeh.

The delegation was received by Eng. Dina Al-Araj and Ms. Robina Sabat, an official in the Public Relations Department at Bethlehem Municipality. Al-Araj talked about the U SOLVE program funded by the European Union, implemented in partnership with Ahlia University and other partners from several countries. She also discussed the importance of having such projects that help achieve sustainable development goals, especially with regard to the participation of women and youth, in addition to developing various sectors in cities.

The delegation also visited the Community Development Center at Palestine Ahliyya University, where they got acquainted with some projects funded by the European Union, especially the project: teaching English as a foreign language in higher education institutions and integrating technology and e-learning in teaching English, where Dr. Mahmoud Tomaizi spoke about the role of the European Union in financing the project, and contributing to its success.

Mr. Bahaa Arman and Ms. Rozan Al-Jarashi received the delegation at the Community Development Center. Al-Jarashi spoke about the U SOLVE project as the main partner in the project, and stressed that the project ultimately aims to fund five startups, in order to develop entrepreneurial businesses in the areas of Bethlehem and Hebron.
