Hebron University Concludes 1st  International Applied Geography Conference Activities

Hebron University concluded the activities of the first international applied geography conference entitled “Applied geography and its role in planning and spatial development”, which was organized by the College of Arts over two consecutive days with the participation of a group of researchers and academics from many Arab countries, including Yemen, Iraq, Morocco, Mauritania, Algeria, Jordan, Egypt, Sudan and Palestine where most of their researches were presented via video conference.

Dr. Nabil Hasasneh, Acting President of the University, welcomed the attendees, and conveyed the greetings of the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the University, Dr. Nabil El-Ja'bari. He also emphasized the role played by the conference attendees  and called them to exert every effort for scientific networking to provide a global educational environment commensurate with modern needs.

The Dean of the College of Arts, Dr. Raghad Dweik, welcomed the guests, researchers and attendees participating in this important international conference, which is the result of continuous efforts, hard work, and cooperation between many colleges and departments at the University.

The conference came out with a set of recommendations, the most important of which are: the establishment and activation of the Council for Arab Geographic Research,  working on the sharing of geographical data between researchers and related institutions, and holding conferences periodically.
