Abstract:
This study investigates the level of influence of social media networks on the social values among Palestinian youth, specifically Facebook. The study raised several questions related to social values and the positive and negative effects on social values. In this study, the researchers used the descriptive survey method to study the phenomenon through a random sample available from Palestinian university youth in the southern West Bank; 150 responses were received on the prepared questionnaire. The study concluded a set of results, the most prominent is: that Facebook has an impact on social values among young people by 34%. The number of positive and negative values of Facebook were measured on young people the most prominent was in the context of positive values that Facebook works to promote cultural and intellectual exchange with the outside world by a high percentage as the answer was agree and strongly agree with about 64% of the study sample. As for the negative values that were measured the highest percentage is raising Social problems, as about 73% of the study sample believes that Facebook contributes to raising social problems.
