Review

Abstract:

The main objective of this research was to analyze the daily precipitation of Al-Marba’anieh (22/12 to 31/1). The study period was extended from 1981 to 2018. For this purpose, 12 climate monitoring stations representing Jordan’s climatic regions (Jordan's valleys, mountainous highlands, and deserts) were used. Jordan receives most of the rainfall during Al-Marba’anieh period. It ranges from 25% at Safawi station to 39% at Maan station. The amounts of rain varied from station to station and from year to year, accordingly, it is described as fluctuating rain and it embodies the climatic characteristics in Jordan. It was also found that the change of rain direction rises and decreases spatially, consequently, a decrease in four stations and an increase in the rest of the stations is observed during the study period, and this indicates the change of rain direction in the future, and one of the results of the study is that the areas where rain is less than 50 mm expanded their area during the period (1981-1990), and witnessed a clear decrease for the periods (2001-2010) and (2011-2018), while areas with rainfall of more than 50 mm increased.
