Joint Scientific Research Between HU College of Medicine and Brown University Highlights Challenges Faced by Palestinian Physicians Post-Gaza War
In a collaborative study between the College of Medicine at Hebron University and Brown University, titled "Perspectives of Palestinian Physicians on the Impact of the Gaza War in the West Bank," significant challenges faced by Palestinian physicians in the aftermath of the Gaza War are brought to light.
Led by sixth-year medical students Hussam Dwaik and Ahmed Abu Hadwan, under the supervision of Dr. Bisan Marqa, the research examines the impact of the war on healthcare in the West Bank. It delves into the difficulties faced by medical personnel, focusing on the strain on health infrastructure and the psychological and professional challenges encountered while providing critical care in such extreme conditions.
The study aims to amplify the voices of Palestinian doctors, offering key insights into the complex healthcare landscape in Palestine. It also presents actionable recommendations for supporting healthcare workers and the health sector, especially in these exceptional circumstances.
