Hebron University - Agricultural Environmental Management for Wadi Al-Semin

Project goals

There are three main objectives for this project, and three sub-goals:

Key objectives:

  1. Study the characteristics of soil, groundwater and agricultural land in terms of analyzing its biological, chemical and physical properties.
  2. Study and develop agricultural environmental awareness for farmers in the region.
  3. Assess the environmental impact and pollution from wastewater in the area, based on soil and groundwater sensitivity, and geotechnical techniques, to activate agricultural environmental development in the region.

Secondary objectives

  • Preparation of a special program to conduct periodic inspections of soil, groundwater and wastewater.
  • Conduct periodic seminars and scientific meetings to acquaint farmers with the seriousness of the problem, how to deal with it; how to reduce pollution and how to work together, for the development of agricultural land in the region.
  • Propose the best spatial solutions to the environmental problems of the region and develop future scenarios for achieving sustainable development in the region.
