الملخـــص:

تهدف هذه الدراسة الى اختبار مدى تأثير التدريب والتمرين على تحسين مهارات الاستماع لدى الدارسين للغة الانجليزية ، فقد قامت الباحثة باجراء تجربة في مساق "مهارات الاستماع في اللغة الانجليزية"الذي يطرح في تخصص اللغة الانجليزية في جامعة القدس المفتوحة وذلك على مجموعة من الدارسين بلغت (74) دارساً في الفصل الثاني من العام الدراسي 2010-2011. ولقد اتبعت الباحثة اسلوب التدريب المكثف الصفي وخارج الصف وذلك عن طريق استماع الدارسين الى العديد من المواد شملت مواداً الكترونية ووسائل اعلام وكذلك استخدام العديد من استراتيجيات تعليم مهارة الاستماع. و قامت الباحثة باجراء امتحان قبلي في بداية الفصل الدراسي واستخدمت الامتحان النهائي للمقرر كامتحان بعدي في نهاية الفصل لمجموعة الدارسين في المساق. وقورنت نتائج الدارسين في الامتحانين وذلك لمعرفة مدى التقدم الذي احرزه الدارسون في هذه المهارة، وقد رصدت عدد ساعات التدريب التي تلقاها كل دارس وكذلك العلاقة بين نسبة التقدم التي أحرزها الدارس وبين عدد ساعات التدريب التي حصل عليها باستخدام الطرق الاحصائية المناسبة. ولقد اظهرت التجربة وجود تطور ملحوظ في أداء الدارسين اختلف باختلاف عدد ساعات التدريب التي حصل عليها كل دارس. وهذا يثبت أنه كلما تدرب الدارسون أكثر كلما تحسنت مهاراتهم السمعية بشكل أكبر، ولهذا فان الباحثة توصي بتشجيع التدريب على هذه المهارة اللغوية الهامة وممارستها وكذلك على التدريب على استخدام الاستراتيجيات المناسبة لتطوير هذه المهارة بالاضافة الى ضرورة حسن اختيار المواد السمعية  .

 

Abstract: 

This study aims at examining the effect of practice and training on the improvement of the students’ English listening skills at the university level. The researcher conducted an experiment in a listening course for English majors at Al-Quds Open University, Palestine in the second semester 2010 -2011 on a group of (74) students. The method used was providing intensive practice and training by listening to all types of listening materials including a lot of on-line materials, media, and by using various types of listening strategies. A pre- test at the beginning of the semester was given and the final exam was used as a post- test. The scores of the two tests were compared to check the development of the students’ listening abilities. The hours of training for each student were calculated and the correlation between the hours of training and the improvement in the achievement in the post- test was analyzed using the suitable statistical methods. The experiment showed significant improvement in the performance of the students which varied in degree according to the amount of practice each student received. The results showed also that the more practice in listening comprehension the students get, the more improvement they achieve. Hence, the study recommends that practice in this important skill should be encouraged and that training in using the suitable listening strategies is essential for improving the level of the students’ listening skill. It is also recommended that teachers should select appropriate, various & interesting listening materials to help the students achieve better results.
