The Chairman of the Board of Trustees Welcomes a High Level Delegation from the World bank

Dr. Nabil El-Jabari , the Chairman of the Board of Trustees welcomed a high  level delegation from the World Bank. The delegation included the head of the human development in the region of the Middle East and North Africa, Mr. Stein Gergensen and the director of the World Bank in the West Bank and Gaza Ms. Miriam Sherman. The President of Hebron University, the Vice Presidents in addition to the Coordinator of the World  Bank,Ms. Lyn Moyeh and Ms. Samira Hillis from the World Bank attended the meeting. At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. El-Jabari  welcomed the delegation  and stressed the importance of cooperation between Hebron University and the World Bank  in order to upgrade the academic  and educational level in this country.

He clarified that the city of Hebron is a marginalized city and that the situation in it is extremely difficult. Thus it is necessary that international institutions and donors in addition to the Palestinian National Authority devote more attention to this city and its development. He also pointed out to the suffering of the Palestinian in Hebron due to the occupation in general and the settlers in particular. The delegation thanked Dr. Al-Ja’bari and the University and  emphasized the importance of close relations with Hebron University. Then the delegation visited the Nutrition Department at the Faculty of Agriculture where Dr. Sabri Zughayyer  explained the nutrition project financed by the World Bank. Then the Vice President for Planning and Quality , Dr. Salman Talahmeh gave a detailed explanation about Hebron University, its stages of development and specializations studied init. At the end of the visit , the delegation  made a tour  through which they got acquainted with the facilities and buildings of the University.
