Hebron University plays a significant role in the life of the city of Hebron, and in Palestinian society at large. We conduct vital research to benefit local industry, train students to enter the workforce and contribute to the Palestinian economy, and try to instill in them a sense of responsibility to their own communities and the world, so that they may become effective future leaders.

We serve over 6,000 students, many of whom come from needy families. It is our policy to accept all qualified students without regard to financial need, as we recognize the importance of education for all segments of society. Students receive financial aid and tuition waivers from Hebron University based on both need and academic performance. Hebron University seeks donations to help us continue this important policy, which rewards academic excellence and allows students who may not otherwise pursue higher education to attend the University and train for a better future.

In order to accommodate a growing number of students and provide them with up-to-date texts and equipment, Hebron University must purchase new and larger numbers of supplies, as well as complete expansion projects such as the ongoing construction of a new Library building and the establishment of additional internet labs. Programs which require hands-on learning, such as Biology, Chemistry, and Nursing, are in severe need of new laboratory equipment. Existing equipment is often outdated or damaged, or is present in insufficient numbers.  Many departments also require new teaching materials in various media, such as textbooks, CD’s, and DVD’s.
