Professor Ahmad Atawneh started teaching at Hebron University in 1983 with an MA degree from Wales University UK; then from 1987-1991 finished Ph.D. in Applied linguistics at State University of New York- Stony Brook, USA. Served as Chair of English Department, Dean of Arts, and Academic vice President for 20 years. Currently, Professor of applied linguistics at the English Department teaching graduate and undergraduate courses.


My main interest is research in applied linguistics in general including mainly discourse analysis and vocabulary studies besides sociolinguistic studies related to pragmatics.
